Title: The Wicked King Author: Holly Black
Pages: 336 My Rating: 5 stars Synopsis: After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished. When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

So... The Wicked King, where do I even start?!

First of all, I want to address Jude and Cardan's relationship they just UGH they tug on my heart strings and mess with my emotions, it isn't fair!! They mess each other apart but they need to realize their feelings and just stay together instead of separating! Especially what he did to Jude! I saw spoilers about it on pages but it was still a shock on my end.

Holly Black, I've fallen in love with her writing. I want to read every single thing she's done and read it over and over again. I'm like that with a lot of authors recently but Holly Black... UGH, she did something to me that no other could.

The Wicked King is hands down, the BEST book I've read this year and that's not saying something, I actually mean that, the character development of every character is perfection, Cardan is still a brat but he's learning to become a better person... For Jude. Even though he kind of backstabbed her(?) But he has his own freedom and he can do what he wants with it. But Jude is a little control freak and a murderer, I mean the first kill was an accident? He 'was' trying to kill her in the first place. But did her knife slip and fly into Balekin on purpose???? Uhhh don't think so. But at least he's dead. Never liked him.

With my reviews I never break down the book and say which parts I liked, I tend to break down the characters, yes the story is good but I prefer character development, how each character changes within each book and how they progress in the story. But overall, I really enjoyed the book, enjoying the story and see where it goes in Queen of Nothing. Which I'm DEFINITELY going to pre order!!!!!

Also I'm planning new things to post on my blog.

Stay Tuned.
